A major rescue operation swung into actions yesterday evening after a visitor was injured at the famous ‘Secret Waterfall’ in south west Donegal.
Killybegs Coast Guard boat and shore teams were tasked at 5.41pm to a casualty who had a lower leg injury and was on the shoreline at the secluded beauty spot at Fintra Bay.
The National Ambulance Service (NAS) and Killybegs Fire Service were also involved in the operation.
The casualty was rescued by the Killybegs Coast Guard RHIB and was taken to the slipway in Killybegs Harbour where it was met by the ambulance for further treatment of the casualty.
“This was a textbook incident and a great example of interagency cooperation. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery,” a spokesperson for the Coast Guard said.
