Hollywood could soon be calling for two young filmmakers at Scoil Cholmcille after winning prizes in the FÍS Storyboarding Competition!
This annual competition aims to encourage children to explore the medium of film in the primary classroom.
Fiona Jobin in Mr. Mc Gowan’s 4th class at Scoil Cholmcille, Letterkenny, received the 1st place award in the 3rd and 4th class category of the competition.
The judges, when commenting on Fiona’s entry, said that it was ‘truly awe-inspiring’ to witness such artistic vision and storytelling ability at such a young age. Her entry ‘New Neighbours’ was unique and imaginative and showcased her immense creativity.
In what was a remarkable few days for Scoil Cholmcille’s budding filmmakers, the school was delighted to hear the news that Fiona’s classmate and good friend Tanvisri Malaram’s entry ‘The Land of the Forever Frost’ was awarded 3rd place in the same highly competitive category.
The competition’s judges noted that there were a ‘multitude of exceptional entries from schools all over the country’, but they commended the standard set by the Scoil Cholmcille students as ‘outstanding’. The school is exceptionally proud of Fiona and Tanvisri for their wonderful achievement.
