Rathmullan Tidy Towns group organised a very successful Cycle to School event for the pupils of St. Joseph’s National School on Friday the 19th of May.
Pupils assembled at the Pier Car Park from 8.30am and donned their high-vis jackets, courtesy of the RSA, and cycled to the School grounds via the back entrance.
There were marshals at all road junctions en route which ensured the young riders a safe passage.
Approximately 100 pupils cycled up Pier Road, with Muinteor Alma and Tidy Towns Chairperson Eilis leading the procession.
Unfortunately, due to another pressing matter, the Garda patrol car was held up, but they did attend school later in the day to have a chat about road safety with the pupils.
