There was a hero’s welcome as a Glenties school became All-Ireland champions this week.
A Garda escort welcomed home the pupils and staff of S.N. Éadan Fhionnfhraoich, on Wednesday evening after they picked up their third such title.
The school travelled to Croke Park to collect their All- Ireland title and Best small school award in the all Irish drama competition “An Cumann Scoildrámaíochta.”
The school also picked up an Ulster title back in March.
The schools production “An Bradán Beatha” looked at the vast realm of seanchas iascaireachta, fishing tradition in Ireland where the everyday lives of men and women working on the ocean give rise to a rich body of stories, beliefs, customs, and rituals about the sea.
The school were ecstatic with their achievements and would like to thank everyone who helped them get into this position; the amazing staff, supportive parents and the community of Edeninfagh.
“Ba mhaith leis na múinteoirí buíochas mór a thabhairt do na daltaí agus tuismitheoirí agus don fhoireann scoile eile a chuidigh go mór leis an scoil.”
