Dunkineely Community Centre
Circuits: A six week circuits (exercise) class for over 55’s will commence in Dunkineely Community Centre on Tuesday 23rd May at 11am. Exercise at your own pace. Cost is €35 for six weeks payable on first day.
Sunday Social: The next highly popular Sunday Social will be on Sunday 28th May at 8pm. Music by The Lakelanders, and refreshments served. Admission €10.
Birds of Donegal
A free talk by Michael Bell, from Nature Learn, on the birds he has been surveying in Co Donegal in the past six years.
As part of our swifts project, in partnership with ChangeMakers, we are holding a free evening talk on swifts, endangered birds and the simple things you can do to help our feathery friends in your own garden.
Come along on 31st May at 7:30pm, in MacLoughlin’s Lounge, Dunkineely. Funded by the Inishowen Development Partnership.
Athletics Challenge
The 52nd annual Primary Schools Athletics Challenge finals took place at Finn Valley AC on 17th May. Congratulations to all who took part from our local schools and especially the Dunkineely NS boys who won the relay and Jack who got 3rd in Javelin.
5k Walk
Join in on Saturday 27th May for a 5km walk.
Meeting at the Methodist Church carpark at 10am. On the walk we will go to Killaghtee, via Bogside, then back to the church for refreshments.
Any donations will go to church funds. Everybody welcome!
Church Services
Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in Ardara.
Catholic Church: Mass will be held at the normal times. Mass can also be viewed on the ‘Bruckless Church – St Joseph and St Conal’ Facebook page. Eucharistic Adoration is on Friday from 11am to 3pm, and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm. Confession can be heard before weekend Masses or arrange a time by contacting Fr Brady at the
Parochial House (074 973 7015).
Church of Ireland: There will be no service in Killaghtee on 28th May, with alternative services held in Killybegs (9:15am), Inver (10:45am) and Mountcharles (12 noon).
Dunkineely Celtic FC
Presentation Night: Dunkineely Celtic F.C. Presentation Night took place in Mac’s Bar this week. Awards were given to the team top goal scorer, Adrian Nesbitt; senior player Aaron O’Shea; and young player Josh Coyler. Special words of thanks to the club managers Mark Hutchinson and Christopher Boyle.
U12: The U12s were unlucky vs Ballybofey this week. They went 1-0 up and then missed some great chances, while Ballybofey got 2 late goals in second half. Final score 2-1.
U10: The U10s travelled to Eany Celtic last week for a great evening of football. Thank you to Eany Celtic for having them.
Lottery: Dunkineely Celtic Lotto results for Sunday 14 th May were 1, 16, 17, 18.
There was no Jackpot winner. Consolation prizes of €20 each went to Carmel McGuinness, Thomas
Armstrong and Nicole McIntyre. The next jackpot will be €900.
Naomh Ultan

Senior Team: The senior team lost to Naomh Mhuire, Conmhaigh at home, 1-9 to 1-12. The Match Ball Sponsor for the game was Shoreview B&B. U15 SRB: The U15 SRB team played Na Ceithre Máistirí (B). They came back from 5 points down at half time, to finish with a draw. Well done to all involved! Final score was Na Ceithre Máistirí 4-7 to 3-10 Naomh Ultan.
U10 LGFA: The U10 LGFA side play had there first outing of the year travelling to Páirc an Phiarsaigh where they play Ard An Rátha.
Cúl Camp: The club’s 2023 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp will run from Monday 10th July to Friday 14th July. The registration for this camp will go live on https://www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie/ from Tuesday 2nd May at 7pm.
The Academy: The Academy is up and running and will continue each week for the Summer. It runs from 9:30 to 10:30am.
The Academy is open to all children aged 4 to 7. They will learn the skills of the game, meet new friends and keep fit and healthy. Most importantly, a safe and open environment to have fun! Bring a Ball: As part of our GAA Healthy Clubs Project, the ‘Bring A Ball’ Initiative will continue throughout 2023. For all the home Senior games this year, children from both clubs can bring a ball with them and enjoy a kick around at half time.
Royal Flush Lotto: Lotto results for 21/05/2023 were 11, 19, 20, 21. There was no winner of the jackpot, consolation prizes went to Joe Blake (Convoy), Dermot McGlynn and Seoirse Gallagher.
