An investigation has been launched into the cause of a fire which damaged a newly-built fishing boat in Killybegs.
The boat, the 31 metre long Eilean Croine, was built by well-known and respected local company Mooney Boats earlier this year.
The alarm was raised last night when a fire broke out on the vessel.
Several members of the local fire services from Glenties, Killybegs and Donegal Town attended the fire and brought it under control.
The boat is owned by Cork fisherman Eric Murphy and based out of Castletownbere.
A Garda spokesperson said they had no report of the incident.
