Donegal County Council and Donegal Intercultural Platform will jointly present an Africa Day celebration at An Grianán Theatre next week.
The celebration opens at 12 noon on Saturday May 27th with a series of exhibitions, discussions, and workshops, taking place.
The afternoon will see a colourful Family Fun Day taking over the An Grianán Theatre Plaza from 2.00pm to 5.00pm, with FREE African food tasting – by Burrito Loco restaurant – Children’s Games, traditional and contemporary Dance displays and workshops, arts and crafts, face painting, hair braiding and Henna Tattoos, as well as music from all corners of Africa with DJ Taka Tha.
All events are FREE and everyone is invited to attend and enjoy.
Africa Day, which falls on Wednesday, 25th May, celebrates the richness of African cultures and the contribution of people of African descent to Irish life.
Africa Day celebrations are organised by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs in partnership with African embassies in Ireland and local authorities around the country.
