The Donegal Parent and Family Support Service (DPFSS) is seeking a Financial Administrator and a Pathways Parent Support Team Leader.
DPFSS is a charity committed to working with children and families across the county on a number of key priorities:
- Improving lives through family led, home based supports
- Delivering strengths based programme interventions to children and families in need
- Providing information, support and signposting to parents and children on a 1:1 or group basis.
- Facilitating a child led and quality based childcare service
DPFSS wishes to recruit for the following posts:
- Financial Administrator 10 hrs. Base: Finn Valley FRC, Stranorlar
- Pathways Parent Support Team Leader 35 hrs. Base: Finn Valley FRC, Stranorlar.
1. Financial Administrator (10hrs)
The successful candidate will have:
- An in-depth knowledge and experience of working with Sage Accounting software within the last two years.
- At least two years proven work experience as a Financial Administrator, or similar role.
- Good knowledge and experience of working in the Community & Voluntary Sector and how it operates.
- Experience in meeting conditions of grant funded applications.
- Experience in compiling quarterly financial returns for Tulsa, the Child and Family
- Agency and other Departments / Agencies / funders.
- Experience in end of year procedures and preparations for yearly audit.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions)
- Good understanding of all bookkeeping procedures
- Good time-management and organisation skills
- Ability to always maintain data confidentiality.
- The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills, be able to operate flexibly and work within a team environment.
- Accounting Technician Qualification (or equivalent) would be desirable but not essential.
2. Pathways Parent Support Team Leader (35hrs)
The successful candidate will have:
- 5 years experience in the delivery of Family Work on a 1:1/ group basis
- Experience of planning and managing own workload within established guidelines
- Experience of working in partnership with outside agencies
- Experience of delivering parenting programs and annual plans
- Ability to communicate on local radio on parenting issues or through local press
- Advanced verbal, observational and influencing skills
- Ability to understand and react to the needs of vulnerable families
- Ability to prioritize and review and work under pressure to specific timescales and targets
- Ability to identify problem areas, make recommendations and create support plans to enable positive changes
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to update and develop social media platforms
- Ability to organize and maintain high quality case and progress records
- Ability to interpret numeric and financial information and take action in accordance with established procedures
- Ability to assess information and make decisions in accordance with established policy and procedure, seeking guidance where necessary
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and complete administrative duties
- Full clean driving license and access to own transport
