St. Eunan’s Raphoe NS are Ulster Champions!

St. Eunan’s National School Raphoe are Ulster Champions, after winning the FAI five-a-side final yesterday in Aileach Burnfoot.

The boys from Raphoe were dominant in all three games they played.

First up was the game against the Cavan champions from Cootehill. St. Eunan’s got off to a great start and were 3 goals to nil up by the 4th minute of the game. They beat their opponents by 8 goals to nil at the final whistle.

After a short break, they faced the Inishowen champions Cardonagh Boys School. St. Eunan’s dominated the play from the off and emerged as the winners, with a final score of 10 goals to 1.

The final deciding game saw the Raphoe boys up against Gael Scoil Ultain, the Monaghan champions. In a much more competitive game the Donegal champions sealed the deal by finishing with 5 goals to 1.

Fantastic performances were recorded in all three games. The squad was comprised of Evan McCarron, Ben Farrell, Orran Kee, Ronan McGranaghan, Odhran McHugh (Captain), Lewis Hamilton, Riley McBride and Tiernan Kelly.

The travelling support were on hand to celebrate when captain Odhran McHugh lifted the trophy.

The team are now making preparations for the All Ireland Final, which will be played in the Aviva Stadium on the 31st of May.
