A 35-year-old man has pleaded guilty after being charged with assaulting a woman in 2021.
Joseph Gallagher, from Ardnawark, Barnesmore, pleaded guilty to the unlawful assault, which was committed at Meetinghouse Street in Stranorlar on August 15, 2021.
He appeared in Letterkenny Circuit Court this week.
During his arraignment, Gallagher spoke only to plead guilty during the short hearing.
State prosecutor Ms Patricia McLaughlin BL told the court that the plea was accepted by the State.
Barrister for Gallagher, Mr Damien Crawford BL, asked that a probation and welfare report be prepared.
Judge John Aylmer adjourned the case until the October sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court and directed that the probation and welfare report include an assessment on Gallagher’s suitability for community service.
