Work on the long awaited Lifford to Castlefin Greenway is to start next month.
Donegal County Council has published a notice in local papers stating that construction will start on June 6. The council stated that a 60 Kph speed restriction will apply during the duration of the works.
The greenway will provide dedicated six metre wide cycle and walking paths adjacent to the N15, along a 7.5km stretch of the road between both towns.
There will also be three new crossing points on the N15 as part of the project, as well as a new dedicated bus stop for the Local Link 288 route from Ballybofey to Derry.
The development is being carried out in partnership with the council and Derry City and Strabane District Council as part of the wider North West Greenway Network (NWGN).
The projects are being funded under the EU’s INTERREG programme, administered by Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
