Magee of Donegal at The Diamond, Donegal Town is hiring a Chef and Waiting Staff for their restaurant, The Weavers Loft Bistro.
Magee is a fifth-generation Irish family business with over 150 years’ experience designing, weaving and tailoring luxury fabrics and high-quality garments. The Company is multi-faceted and includes manufacturing, wholesale, retail and e-commerce.
Part-Time Chef
We have a vacancy at the Weavers Loft Bistro for a part-time Chef who will play a vital role in supporting the Chef producing excellent food using high quality seasonal ingredients. The role is multi-functional and main responsibilities include:-
- Assisting the Chef with preparation of orders and plating up so that the food is appealing to the customer.
- Deputising for the Chef on his day off and annual leave, ensuring that all meals are prepared and presented according to his instructions.
- Daily baking requirements – scones, breads, tarts etc and a small selection of desserts.
- Maintaining excellent levels of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with legislation.
- Supporting the Chef on new menu suggestions and pricing.
Key requirements are:-
- A genuine interest in food and some baking skills – further training can be provided.
- Experience in a food/catering business.
- The ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to “muck in” as required.
- Up-to-date HACCP qualification.
Hours will be based across Monday-Saturday. Opening hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm. Flexibility is essential. The Restaurant does not operate on a Sunday.

Full-time Restaurant/Waiting Staff
We have a vacancy at the Weavers Loft Bistro in our store on The Diamond, Donegal Town for a full-time member Restaurant/Waiting Staff. If you are looking to join a great team of people in a friendly environment, this is the place for you.
Key responsibilities:-
- Serving customers, ensuring that all orders are taken correctly and that the food is served in an efficient, courteous and friendly manner.
- Assisting with food prep as required under the guidance of the Chef.
- Making teas, coffees etc and plating up the desserts.
- Regular cleaning of all areas of the dining and kitchen areas.
- Taking payments and cashing up at the end of the day.
Key requirements:-
- The ability to work as part of a team is essential as is the ability to anticipate a customer’s needs and provide excellent service.
- Some experience in a similar role would be an advantage but is not necessary.
Hours are 37.5 per week, five days across Monday-Saturday. Working hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm. Flexibility across these hours is essential. The Restaurant is not open on Sunday.
