The volunteer RNLI Lough Swilly Lifeboat crew came to the rescue of two people, and a dog, this morning after their yacht got into difficulty.
Both Buncrana-based Lifeboats were on exercise morning when a vessel made contact to say they needed assistance.
The crew set up a tow and took the boat and its three passengers to the safety of Fahan Marina. The crew then returned to Ned’s Point to refuel and make ready for service.
It was a special day for new crew member, Sean Coyle (below), who was involved in his first rescue.
Remember if you’re in trouble in or on the water or see someone in difficulty, please dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
