Ten members of an east Donegal family completed the Belfast Marathon today in memory of their late mother and grandmother, raising thousands of euro in the process.
Popular Rose Irwin (below), from Crossroads, Killygordon, sadly passed away on February 28, 2022.
“She suffered from Alzheimer’s for many years and, thanks to the support offered by the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, we, as a family, were able to care for her in her own home,” a spokesperson for the family said.
As a result, ten of them wanted to give something back to this wonderful charity by completing the Belfast Marathon Relay in Rose’s memory earlier today.
And they did just that. To date, they have raised a massive €4,300 through their GoFundMe page.
The team, which included her daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, was made up of Joanne Irwin, Caroline and Elaine Catterson, Leanne, Conor and Erin Dolan as well as Daniel, Matthew, Jack and Molly Catterson.
The donation page is still open, and you can click HERE to contribute to this very worthy cause.
