Memory Tree – Raphoe Men’s Shed
Raphoe men’s shed have teamed up with the Irish Men’s shed Association and the Irish Hospice Foundation for this lovely project.We have all suffered losses and grief personal and public, big & small, ones we have learnt to live with and ones that unexpectantly take our breaths away, it could be the loss of a loved one, the loss of time spent with loved ones during covid, it could be about a person, place or a moment in time! Raphoe Men’s shed invite you to join them on Thursday 4th May at the Family Resource Centre between 10 and 2PM for a cuppa and to place your memory on their memory tree!Everyone Welcome!

Raphoe Men’s Shed

Big Brother Big Sister
In 2023, Big Brother Big Sister is again calling on adult volunteers to step forward and give just one hour a week to meet with a young person from age 8-18 for whom life may be a little challenging. Raphoe Boxing Club
Congratulations goes to the club boxer the ‘Blonde Bomber’ Taylor Parke who claimed his first National Gold medal in his third national final when he outpointed Mullingar’s red hot favourite Calvin Stokes from the Olympic boxing club in the Boy3 35kilo final at the National Stadium Dublin on Saturday afternoon, but there was no joy for his club-mate John Gerard Ward who lost out on a split decision and had to settle for silver. The club is now back in full swing after the Easter break with Junior boxers training on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-7pm and Senior boxers training Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7pm-8.30pm and all new and former members most welcome.
Family Support
As a parent or guardian, parenting is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do, however the Family Resource Centre recognises at times life throws up challenges and these can be overwhelming.Some examples of the support we can offer; making routines, establishing boundaries and dealing with challenging behaviours
The Family Resource Centre can help through listening ear, parenting programmes, one to one support, and a drop-in clinic to offer support on issues that are affecting home life.

Breakfast Club
Our breakfast club takes place Monday – Friday from 8.40am – 9.00 am. This is to support families with cost of living crisis that many families are currently experiencing. Little Smiles with Big Dreams Baby & Toddler Group
Baby and toddlers takes place every Wednesday morning in the FRC from 10:30am to 12.Starting back Wednesday 11th January. Light snacks will be provided for the kids and a cup of tea for the adults. Cost is €2 per family. Please note the change of venue.
Women’s Group

Seniors Alert Scheme
Raphoe Family Resource Centre is registered under Pobal’s Senior Alert Scheme to provide personal alarms to those over 65 years living alone for significant periods of time during the day, or is a carer to someone else in their household. The purpose of the scheme is to enable older persons of limited means to continue to live securely in their own homes with confidence, independence and peace of mind providing them with a free personal monitored alarm which can be worn as a pendant or around their wrist like a watch. S.T.A.R.T Project
Would you like to talk to someone about your concerns around drugs/alcohol? Free, confidential – non-judgemental service providing up to date information and practical supports, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness practices, Brief Solution Focus Therapy and the Smart Recovery Principles. Drop in Group/Individuals every Monday 10am-12pm in the Raphoe Family Resource Centre. Letterkenny C.D.P is a community Development Project providing a Community Response to Alcohol/Drug misuse throughout Co. Donegal. Raphoe Volt House Recourse Centre
As part of the Bealtaine Festival for May 2023,funded by the Arts Council and HSE, the Volt House is launching Chair Pilates with Sadie (for over 55’s)
Join Sadie Devenney, qualified Pilates instructor, for a 45 min gentle Pilates session, followed by a short talk on maintaining a healthy diet, body and mind
