Some of Ireland’s most exciting acts will be out in force in Dublin tonight for a fundraising concert for Donegal radio and television presenter Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí.
Rónán, who grew up in Gaoth Dobhair, has been a steadfast supporter of the Irish music scene.
Now, as he battles cancer, his friends are putting their talents together to help Rónán in his hour of need.
A gig takes place tonight (Tuesday) in Whelan’s Dublin with Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Kíla, Jiggy, Síle Denvir, The Bonny Men and more on the line-up.
It promises to be an unmissable night of entertainment and a celebration of great Irish music.

All funds will go towards Rónán’s treatment.
Rónán has been fighting cancer for the past four years. He now has Stage 4 colon cancer and needs treatment abroad. He has had two major surgeries and around 40 bouts of chemo in the last few years, but is now at a stage where a cure or surgery is not an option, in Ireland.
He is currently receiving treatment at a clinic in Spain, and is organising other suitable treatments at clinics abroad. The cost of these treatments are hugely expensive. Rónán’s friends came together this month to launch a Go Fund Me page in a bid to raise €120,000 towards the cost of that treatment.
