Daniel O’Donnell has joined the huge outpouring of tributes to Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman following his death from cancer at the age of 78.
The champion dancer died peacefully on Saturday night.
“I was so sorry to hear of Len’s passing,” said Daniel in a tribute on social media.
“He was an absolute gentleman. Sympathies to all his family. May he rest in peace.”
Daniel, who competed in the BBC contest in 2015, shared a smiling photo of himself with Len alongside the post.
Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman called Goodman “a class act” who was full of “twinkle, warmth and wit”.
Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood described Len Goodman as a “gorgeous colleague and dear friend”. He said: “Len Goody Goodman is what I always called him and ‘It’s a ten from Len & seveeeeern’ will live with me forever. RIP Len”.
A statement from Len’s agent, Jackie Gill, described him as a “much loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him.”
