Expressions of interest are being sought from descendants of Donegal people who died in the Civil War who wish to attend an upcoming event in Dublin.
On Sunday the 28th of May, a formal ceremony for a healing moment of reconciliation,
remembering everyone who lost their lives in the Civil War, will take place in the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin.
The Department of the Taoiseach wishes to ensure that some of the close relatives of those directly impacted by the divisive period in our history have an opportunity to attend.
Due to capacity constraints, the department has proposed a maximum of five relatives to attend from each county. The expressions of interest applications are intended for close relatives of the families most affected by local events.
The event will be held outdoors and will be televised.
Anyone wishing to submit an expression of interest should send their name, postal address, email address and details of your family connection to the Civil War in
Donegal. These should be sent to the County Museum at museum@donegalcoco.ie by Monday 24 th April at 4pm.
Please note if the expressions of interest exceed the five places available, names will be chosen at random.
