If you’re looking for a new place to stroll and soak up the good weather this week, why not try the newly developed Inishoneill trail outside Carndonagh.
The North West Community Development group has proudly unveiled a 5km walking and cycling trail from the mountain road into Inishoneill, Carndonagh.
The trail is one of a series of short walking routes developed for people to get outdoors and enjoy spectacular scenery and heritage sites in the Inishowen peninsula.
The NWCD is working on an extensive network of walking and cycling trails linking towns and villages across the Inishowen peninsula.
The Inishoneill trail has already gathered positive interest locally and is promoted by the Carndonagh Tidy Town group.
An NWCD spokesperson said: “We wish to thank everyone who got behind the development of this trail, in particular, members of the local community and the North Inishowen Area engineer and their fantastic team on the ground.”
Other trails developed by the group include The Tip O’Neill Trail from the Mamore Gap to Drumfries and the recently opened Cruckahenny Trail from Eddie Fullerton Dam outside Buncrana to the village of Quigley’s Point.
