The new school project for Moville Community College has received approval to proceed to construction under the Large Scale Capital programme.
The project will consist of a new build extension to the current school which will accommodate up to 550 pupils. The extension will include special educational classrooms.
The approval means that Donegal Education and Training Board, who are managing the project, can proceed to award the main construction contract.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal TD, Charlie McConalogue, today confirmed the progress and said: “This is an exciting and important day for all the Moville Community College community and follows a very productive meeting including representatives from the school, Minister Norma Foley and me recently in Donegal. The project is a game changer for the school and for Moville and will massively improve educational offering.
“I thank Minister Norma Foley for confirming the news and for the work of the ETB, principal, staff, students and parents of the schools for progressing the project.”
