Fallen Garda Robbie McCallion has been remembered today on the 14th anniversary of his tragic death.
Robbie lost his life in the line of duty following an incident at Tara Court in Letterkenny when he was struck by a stolen car.
Garda McCallion was originally from Swinford in Co Mayo but was serving in Letterkenny.
His heartbroken colleagues in Donegal today paid a fitting tribute to the late officer who gave his life for the protection of the community he served.
A Garda spokesperson said “Today, on the 14th anniversary of his death we remember our very dear friend and colleague, Garda Robert Mc Callion. Garda Robert McCallion R.I.P. late of Swinford, Co. Mayo and Letterkenny, Co. Donegal very sadly lost his life in the line of duty.
“He is never far from the thoughts of all those who had the pleasure of working with him. Our thoughts are also with the McCallion family today. May Robbie rest in peace.”
