Finn Harps make the long journey to Kerry tonight to take on Kerry FC after being thumped by Waterford FC last weekend.
Harps boss Dave Rogers knows his side need to bounce back from that 7-1 defeat in a bid to get their season back on track.
Rogers said his team opened well against Waterford but unfortunately conceded “preventable” goals.
But he says the team have trained well this week.
He said “Unfortunately our four game unbeaten run came to a disappointing end away to Waterford FC and with a score line that nobody expected or wants to go through again.
“For the first 30 minutes we were the team playing on the front foot and limiting Waterford FC to very little so to capitulate in the manner we did and concede such poor and preventable goals was a real lesson for us all.
“Yet again the players have trained with a spring in their step and a desire to go to Kerry FC and try to win the match and respond in a positive direction and show the fans that last week was just a bad day at the office.”
On the injury front, both captain Keith Cowan and Cian Lynch are still out.
The Harps boss added “On the injury side, we are still without our captain Keith Cowan who is still a few weeks away with his hamstring and nerve problem. Cian Lynch is making steady progress in his rehabilitation program from his meniscus injury and will step up his workload next week while Sean (O’Donnell) will serve the last game of his suspension tomorrow and be available for selection once again.”
Kick-off at Mounthawk Park is 7.45pm and the game is live on loitv.ie.
