A walker stranded on a remote south west Donegal beach was airlifted to safety this morning.
The Killybegs Coast Guard team were tasked at 9:45am to rescue a casualty stranded on the beach in Glenlough Bay, near Port, Glencolmcille.
The team and the Rescue 118 helicopter made their way to the area.
“The casualty was airlifted by Rescue 118 from the beach without any injuries and was returned to Port car park. We wish to thank Rescue 118 for their assistance today,” a spokesperson for Killybegs Coast Guard said.
