More Donegal schools have landed big wins at this year’s PE Xpo in Dublin.
Yesterday, we confirmed that Aisling Mullen and Katie Dowds from St Columba’s College, Stranorlar, took the top senior prize for their project called ‘Mind Over Matter”.
PE Xpo is a major competition that examines the science behind sport. It takes place annually in the sports complex of Dublin City University (DCU).
Winning the top prize in the STEM category was Jara Shaufler (main pic) of Moville Community College for a project called ‘Proteins are not Alike’.
Another Donegal school featured at PExpo ’23 was Loreto Milford, with well over a dozen projects submitted.
The winners were awarded their prizes by Dare to Believe Olympic ambassadors, Aifric Keogh and Marcus Lawler.
A record number of students from schools over the country took part in the exhibition, designed to test students’ knowledge of sport, fitness and well-being.
Prizes were awarded in special categories as well as under a number of headings. The tenth PExpo will take place in March 2024.
