Daniel Marley netted the vital penalty as Donegal overcame Antrim in the Ulster U20 Championship Quarter Final at Mac Cumhaill Park this evening.
In a keenly contested encounter the game was forced into extra-time after ending 0-9 to 0-9 in normal time.
It had looked as if a David Boyle point late in ordinary time had done enough for Donegal but up popped Christy Mulligan to level the sides.
Antrim did get the upper hand in extra time and were 0-14 to 0-11 ahead just four minutes into the second half of extra time.
But Donegal fought back gallantly and managed to snatch a late draw thanks to a point from Shaun Ward to make it 0-15 a piece.
The game had to be finished on the night and so penalties were played.
Eoin Gough unfortunately missed Antrim’s third penalty as all five Donegal players found the net with Daniel Marley sealing victory with the fifth penalty.
