Aidan O’Rourke is to stay on as interim manager and head coach of the Donegal senior squad.
Donegal GAA has issued a brief statement saying the Armagh man will continue as interim manager for the Ulster Championship and for the 2023 All-Ireland series.
Paddy Bradley will stay on as his assistant.
The statement added; “CLG Dhún na nGall are also delighted to welcome Antoin McFadden as Strength and Conditioning coach.”
The news comes less than four weeks out from Donegal’s Ulster Chamionship opener away to Down on Sunday, April 24th.
Following Paddy Carr’s surprise resignation as manager last Wednesday, O’Rourke and Bradley took charge of Donegal’s final league came of the Allianz Division One in Roscommon on Sunday.
Donegal lost the game 0-21 to 0-9 following another hugely disappointing performance – the defeat confirming relegation to Division Two.
After the game O’Rourke was non-committal over his future.
However, the uncertainty over the manager’s position now ends with Donegal GAA moving swiftly to keep O’Rourke and Bradley on board.
