The border towns of Lifford and Strabane are mourning the passing of a much loved retired teacher in Anne Meade.
Anne was a highly valued and respected teacher in Our Lady of Mercy Secondary School, in Strabane, the short journey across the border bridge from her native Lifford.
She has been remembered as a kind-hearted teacher and a ‘beautiful soul, inside and out’ who formed a great connection with her students due to her calm mannerism and empathy.
She was also a very devout and faithful lady.
She passed away on peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital on Wednesday, 22nd March.
The daughter of late Percy and Alice Meade and sister of the Late Sean, she is deeply regretted by her loving sisters, Maura and Alice, niece and nephews, brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours and very kind friends.
Anne’s remains are reposing at her home at the Diamond, Lifford with the Wake open to the public from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Her remains will leave her home on Saturday at 5 p.m. going to St. Patrick’s Church, Murlog, Lifford to repose overnight arriving for 5.30 p.m.
Funeral Mass on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Interment afterwards in the adjoining Graveyard.
