Minister Charlie McConalogue has confirmed a €300,000 investment to support three Donegal social enterprises.
The groups to benefit from the Scaling Up Fund are Letterkenny Community Centre, The No Barriers Foundation and Ionad Cois Locha (Dunlewey Centre) who will receive €100k each.
The Community Centre will use the funds for the fit-out and finishes to the Social Centre as well as external site works.
Ionad Cois Locha (main pic) will build a disability toilet and also plan to install an air to water heat pump as well as upgrading plumbing, air conditioning, fire alarm, emergency lighting upgrades and works to improve access to the playground.
No Barriers will use the fund to purchase equipment to improve the strength, fitness and mobility of their clients, enabling rehabilitation and senior exercise.
Confirming the allocations, Minister McConalogue said: “I am delighted to confirm today that three Donegal social enterprises will benefit under the Scaling Up Fund. This funding will directly enable these social enterprises to develop and expand the vital services that they provide in communities in Donegal”. He continued “thank you to these enterprises for the great work they do.”
