There is good news for homes and businesses in Letterkenny and some surrounding areas with confirmation that over 3,000 premises can now avail of National Broadband Ireland’s high-speed fibre connection.
Meanwhile over 2,700 premises in the Creeslough area will also be able to avail of high-speed fibre broadband in the coming months.
National Broadband Ireland, the company delivering the new future-proofed, high-speed Fibre-to-the-Home network under the National Broadband Plan on behalf of the Government, has said that over 3,000 premises near Letterkenny can get a high-speed fibre broadband connection on its network today.
There are 3,105 premises in the Letterkenny deployment areas – including Edenacarnan, Ramelton and Templedouglas – that can join the National Broadband Ireland network.
National Broadband Ireland is calling on people living near Letterkenny to visit nbi.ie/map/ and enter their Eircode to see if they are ready to connect.
Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said: “Homes and businesses in the rural surrounds of Letterkenny are the first parts of Donegal that can connect to National Broadband Ireland’s high-speed network.
“We know that broadband is a crucial utility for people and our message for those who are waiting for a connection is that the rollout is coming and we will make additional progress in Donegal over the coming months.”
There are 2,708 premises in the Creeslough deployment area that are now under construction to have high-speed fibre delivered in the coming months having successfully completed the Survey and Design phase of the project.
