Tickets are now on sale for the return of Opry le Daniel to the Millennium Forum in Derry.
Three nights of concerts are to be recorded before a live audience at the Millennium Forum on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3rd, 4th and 5th.
And with two concerts taking place each night, there’s a real treat in store for country music fans.
Opry le Daniel, presented by Daniel O’Donnell, has hosted the biggest names in country music from the world stage such as Charley Pride, Crystal Gayle, Rita Coolidge, and of course, not forgetting Ireland’s home-grown talent of Margo, Mike Denver, Louise Morrisey, ‘the voice of romance’, Roly Daniels and, of course, the King and Queen of Irish Country Music, Big Tom and Philomena Begley.
Recorded before a live audience, Opry le Daniel offers a different music theme each night and the first of those will see the new and upcoming ‘stars of tomorrow’ feature on Monday, 3rd April.
Appearing on stage with host presenter Daniel O’Donnell will be ‘New Country’ artists Owen Mac, Lee Matthews and Sinead Black.
The second concert on the night will be ‘Classic Country’ and Opry are delighted to welcome back to the stage Shawn Cuddy, Robert Mizzell and the inimitable Gloria.
Tuesday night’s concert themes will start with ‘Celtic & Country’ with The Tumbling Paddies and Derry’s own Mairéad Carlin making their first ever appearance on Opry and Tommy Fleming who will no doubt receive the biggest welcome back of the night.
Concert two on Tuesday will be the ‘Contemporary Music’ show and crowd favourite Johnny Brady will be entertaining patrons alongside Catherine McGrath and Lisa McHugh.
The final night of the series on Wednesday, 5th April will no doubt see a packed house for the ‘Country & Irish’ concert when favourites Brendan Shine, Susan McCann and Dominick Kirwan will once again tread the floorboards with Daniel.
The final recorded concert on the night will be ‘Songs of Patsy Cline – A Tribute’ featuring Sandy Kelly, Claudia Buckley and Chloe Agnew.
