Donegal’s Niamh McLaughlin is being linked with a move to Australia and AFLW club Golf Coast Suns.
The Moville player has reportedly caught the eye of the Queensland side and could be one of several Irish players making the move to Australia in the coming weeks.
According to the Irish Examiner, McLaughlin, who was the 2022 TG4 senior Players’ Player of the Year, is wanted by Golf Coast Suns.
And if the talented Inishowen player does head Down Under, it would be the second year in a row that the Player of the Year would make the move to Australia after Meath’s Vikki Wall joined North Melbourne last season.
The Irish Examiner reports that the AFLW Sign and Trade period runs until March 20, with a delisted free agency period to follow before the supplementary draft on April 4. The paper reports that several Irish players are expected to make the move including Kerry’s Paris McCarthy, Mayo’s Dayna Finn and Dublin’s Jennifer Dunne.
