Donegal Town Garda Ignatius Mc Cready has retired after 40 years of dedicated service.
Ignatius, who is from Glenties originally, served in Carrickmacross, Monaghan and Pettigo. But it was Donegal Town where he made his mark in road safety.
In 1997, he was assigned to the newly-formed Traffic Corps in Donegal Town. He remained with the unit until his retirement last Friday.
A spokesperson from Garda Síochána Donegal said: “Ignatius, we wish you and your family many years of happiness and good health in the future. Don’t be a stranger! Happy retirement!”
