The Ballyshannon Drama Society (BDS) booked their placed this year’s All Ireland finals in Athlone following their latest victory in the qualifying heats.
They picked up their fourth win with the excellent ‘A Delicate Balance’ at the Enniskillen Drama Festival last night.
The BDS now proudly sit on top of the Amateur Drama Council of Ireland (ACDI) Open (senior) Section league table with 36 points, and with a number of other results yet to come in.
‘A Delicate Balance’ is directed by Rachel O’Connor, who also performs in the show as Claire, and she will be assisted by Carl Duggan.
The cast features a group of highly talented, multi-award winning actors: Trish Keane and Richard Hurst as Agnes and Tobias, last year’s newcomers Deirdre Ferguson and Troy Devaney as Julia and Harry, and Kay O’Dea as Edna.
Meanwhile, Ballybofey’s Butt Drama Circle (BDC) is also in the mix and currently sit in seventh place with their powerful, original production.
Darkness Echoing is a play written, starred in and directed by BDS member Shaun Byrne. It also stars Mairead McMenamin and JC Bonar.
They finished second in Enniskillen last night, with more results yet to come in.
