Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic are through to a first ever FAI Intermediate Cup semi-final following a brilliant win over Drumcondra this afternoon.
Drumcondra FC . . . 0, Cockhill Celtic . . . 3
This delayed quarter-final, which was played at the AUL Complex in Dublin, was decided in the second half during which Cockhill scored all of their goals.
It sets up a last four meeting in Cork next weekend where Ringmahon Rangers will provide the opposition.
Drumcondra got through to the last eight after lodging an appeal against Home Farm following their last 16 tie during which Home Farm brought on a substitute who was not named on the official match card.
But the men from North Dublin had no answer to Gavin Cullen’s side who produced another excellent cup display to advance.
Lee McColgan fired them in front from the penalty spot on 47 minutes.
Goals from Luke Rudden (51) and Adam McLaughlin (87) sealed the win.
