ATU Donegal Ladies Gaelic footballers have won the Lynch Cup.
Barney Curran’s side beat University College Cork to take the title this afternoon on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-07.
ATU Donegal …1-11 UCC …1-07
The final was the climax to a busy weekend of colleges action at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Mayo.
ATU Donegal, who won the Quill Cup back in November, made it a double success with a great all-round team performance.
Manager Barney Curran could barely believe the result as he sunk to his knees at the end of the game.
ATU’s Ciara McGarvey was the player of the match.
It was nip and tuck up until half-time when McGarvey netted for ATU to make it 1-4 to 0-4 and they strecthed their lead in the second half and never looked like being caught.
