Two Donegal drama groups will take to the stage at the Strabane Drama Festival at the Alley Theatre in Strabane this month.
Audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy some wonderful performances with Lifford Players presenting ‘When Elephants Collide’ by Edward Flannagan on the opening night next Friday, St. Patrick’s Day. The performance begins at 8pm.
It’s been a busy time for the Lifford group who already this month have competed in the Cavan Drama Festival, Ballinamore Drama Festival and the Rush Drama Festival.
Meanwhile the Butt Drama Group presents ‘Darkness Echoing’ by Shaun Byrne on Wednesday, March 22nd. Joe returns home to Donegal from London under a cloud to find his father seriously ill and is forced to deal with issues concerning his own young son’s passing some years earlier.
It’s part of a busy run of performances for the Ballybofey group who also took part in the Western Drama Festival in Tubbercurry last Thursday.
The Strabane Drama Festival programme and ticket details are available at www.alley-theatre.com.
As always there will be a fringe event in the Alley Bar starting at 7.30pm every night, before the curtain rises at 8pm. Audiences can enjoy music from some of our finest local talent including Brian Hassan, Jamie Donnelly and Terry McCafferty amongst others.
