Met Eireann has issued an updated snow warning for Donegal.
Many parts of southern Ireland incluidng Limerick have already been hit by heavy snow showers.
Now the national forecaster has said that Donegal is set to be hit overnight.
The forecaster warned “Rain, sleet and snow will spread northwards across the country accompanied by strengthening winds.
“Accumulations of snow are expected in many areas along with icy conditions.Sleet and snow will likely transition to rain in southern areas for a time.”
The forecaster added that possible impacts of the worsening weather conditions include:
● Hazardous driving conditions
● Travel disruption
● Poor Visibility
The warning came into effect this morning at 9am and lasts until 12pm tomorrow (Friday).
There have been no notices from Donegal schools regarding possible closures but a number of schools in southern-most parts of the country have closed.
