A community group in east Donegal has been busy in recent weeks with their Spring cleans.
Crossroads and Killygordon Enterprise (CAKE) wish to thank the volunteers who came out on Saturday to clean up our beautiful walkway along the River Finn at Dromore.
As you can see from their video, the work also included the removal of unsightly ‘graffitti’ from under the bridge and at the Loughs Agency sheds.
Both Red Hugh’s and Setanta arranged for their members to help out and Shane Gallagher from the Loughs Agency supplied paint and equipment.
“90 minutes was all it took when people helped each other and it was great fun,” a spokesperson for CAKE said.
“Thanks to the ladies who provided tea and homemade scones for everyone at the CAKE centre afterwards. Thanks also to the CE guys and girls who cleaned up the area during the week in preparation for this work.”
There are exciting plans for this area as it featured heavily in the community engagement workshops which were held in 2022.
One concept is being developed to make the playpark accessible to children with additional needs, to include a sensory and community garden. Funding is also being sought for a looping walkway around Dromore Wood, starting and ending at the playpark.
