Coláiste Na Carraige from Carrick have won the All-Ireland Under 16 Girls C Basketball title.
The school, which boasts just 250 pupils, overcame the challenge of Coláiste Dún an Rí on a scoreline of 44-36 at the National Basketball Arena today.
Carrick’s captain Alanna Boyle led by example and scored a staggering 23 points to deservedly lift the Most Valued Player award.
Indeed Alanna managed to score two late baskets in the final seconds of the game to ensure victory.
But overall this was a great team effort from Coláiste Na Carraige who claimed their first All-Ireland title since 1995.
