Gardaí are seeking information in relation to a sinister incident in which a car was vandalised while a person was inside.

The incident occurred at approximately 2.10am last Thursday morning at lower Port Road, Letterkenny.

A man wearing a black jacket and jeans, and white hi-top runners approached a parked car near the Station Roundabout and smashed the rear driver’s side window.

He then left on foot in the direction of the Station Roundabout/Ramelton Road. There was someone in the car at the time, but they were not hurt.

“This was not a very nice experience for the person in the car,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.

“There would have been a lot of taxi drivers in that area around that time, and many of them would have dash cams.”

Anyone with information should contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100 if they witnessed the incident.

If anybody can assist in any way with this investigation, they can also call the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
