Planners have refused permission for the construction of five commercial units on the outskirts of Letterkenny.
Christopher McG Limited had sought the go-ahead for the development at Killyclug.
There was one objection to the application.
In refusing the proposal, the council said the development was ‘premature’ given that it is proposed the area in question be rezoned from its current ‘commercial’ status to ‘local environment’.
The draft Letterkenny Plan and Local Transport Plan 2023-2029 is currently out for public consultation.
“Therefore, it is considered that to permit the proposed development would be prejudicial to the statutory local area-plan making process, the public consultation process of which is currently ongoing,” planners said.
