The National Driving Licence Service (NDLS) Letterkenny office will not now have its opening hours reduced.
There had been plans to scale back opening times, however, Charlie McConalogue says there has been a change of heart.
The confirmation follows an update from Minister of State, Jack Chambers, last week in which he noted the proposed move was paused following a report from the Road Safety Authority (RSA).
“The proposed reduction in operating hours at the NDLS Letterkenny office is an issue I’ve been working on with Minister Chambers since it was first raised,” Minister McConalogue said.
“It was positive to have the decision paused last week and I am delighted to confirm that it has been decided that the proposed change in office hours will not go ahead. The service is very important for Donegal drivers and I thank the service for all it does in Donegal. It is important to get this certainty for users of the service but also for those working in the office.”
