Farming issues were top of the agenda as Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Martin Heydon visited Donegal last week.
Minister Heydon, from Kildare, toured to Ballyshannon, Raphoe and Stranorlar last Thursday.
The visit examined the important contribution of agriculture to the county.
Minister Heydon’s day began in Ballyshannon, where he met with farmers and farm organisations to discuss topical farm issues at the Castle Adventure Open Farm.
He then visited the Tops farm in Raphoe, the home of Ireland’s potato genetics and seed potatoes.
The day concluded at Kee’s Hotel in Stranorlar, where Minister Heydon met with farming reps, Fine Gael councillors and the Fine Gael Constituency Executive.
