Raphoe Mens 1st team continued their fine form in the Ulster Intermediate League with a 3-1 victory over rivals Portrush.
The Donegal outfit controlled the first period with a lot of possession.
After missing several chances the deadlock was finally broke just before halftime. Simon Goudie, who just entered the field from the subs bench, buried a penalty corner past the Portrush stopper. A deserved lead for the Raphoe men.
The second half continued the same way with Raphoe having much of the possession and again the pressure paid off, another penalty corner, this time converted by Matthew Lecky, a hard shot finding the bottom corner.
Many Chances followed for Raphoe but it took some time before a third goal finally came.
Goudie netted agai to make it 3-0 from another penalty corner, a fine finish into the roof of the net.
The remainder of the game saw Portrush receive a few cards but the dogged team kept fighting and did pull a goal back late on.
It ended 3-1 with this latest win seeing Raphoe clear at the top of the league and keeps Portrush in third position.
