A standby aircraft has been introduced at Donegal Airport as a result of the recent cancellation of flights to and from Dublin.
A Department of Transport spokesperson said it is aware of the recent disruption on the government-subsidised service which has seen numerous flights cancelled.
Emerald Airlines confirmed that a technical difficulty with the designated aircraft is to blame. As a result of the cancellations, passengers were offered coach transfers to Dublin or seats on the next available flight.
The department says the airline’s performance on the route will continue to be monitored in accordance with the PSO contract for the provision of the services.
