Donegal town has been selected as one of six pilots nationally to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
To kickstart the campaign, Donegal County Council, in partnership with My Waste, will host a breakfast morning event on February 28th at 8am – 9.30am in the Abbey Hotel.
The event will be an opportunity for local businesses and organisations to come together to learn about the initiative, network and enjoy delicious food.
Guests will hear from representatives of the council, My Waste, Donegal ETB and Donegal Local Enterprise Office. They will share insights on the importance of sustainable business practices and how the Green Hub campaign will help encourage and support sustainable practices in Donegal town.
“I am thrilled that Donegal town was chosen as one of the six national pilots for the Green Hub campaign,” stated Cllr Micheál Naughton, Leas-Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council.
“It is our responsibility to take care of the environment we live in. Encouraging local businesses to take proactive steps towards sustainability is something we will take great pride in. I would encourage all businesses throughout the Donegal Town area to join us in creating a positive impact and more sustainable future.”
The Green Hub initiative will provide resources and support to businesses looking to adopt more sustainable practices, including waste segregation and reduction strategies. The campaign will also recognise businesses that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability, with the goal of creating a greener, more environmentally responsible business community in Donegal town.
