An 80 bed Community Hospital is scheduled to open in Ballyshannon by April 2023, it has been announced.
The building is nearing completion, with remaining works to include internal painting, furniture fitting and floor covering alongside testing of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Externally, plans are in place in the coming weeks to complete the road surfaces, footpath, car parking and garden/paved areas.
The 80 bed unit will accommodate both residents/patients of the Sheil Hospital and Rock Nursing Unit. It will consist of 66 single bedrooms and 7 twin bedrooms in a combination of long stay, short stay and dementia wards.
