Jason Quigley said he is ready and excited to return to the ring as he headlines The Return at the National Stadium in Dublin on April 1.
Quigley (19-2, 14KOs), a world title challenger, meets Denmark’s Kim Poulsen (30-6, 8KOs) over ten rounds at super-middleweight.
The Return is the first show promoted by Elite Sheer, who are aiming to reignite pro boxing in Ireland.
Quigley said: “I’m very excited for this. Training camp has been going brilliant so far. I’m in good shape and feeling good.”
Quigley is returning to a venue that holds special memories.
As an amateur, the Ballybofey man won ten Irish titles in the iconic South Circular road venue.
Quigley last fought at the National Stadium as an amateur when beating Rachid Hamani on May 5, 2013.
“I’ve had many great memories in here. Becoming the national senior champion in here was one of my special nights.
“We were here at a show in November and I stepped through the ropes and just danced around the ring. It was the first time in about ten years and something just lit inside me: ‘I’ve got to fight here’.
“It’s an iconic venue. It has a lot of memories for me and it means a lot. Some of my biggest wins have been in the National Stadium. I can’t wait to get in there and showcase what I can do.”
