Tributes are being paid to one of Gaoth Dobhair’s most dedicated supporters, Jimí Mhicí Ó Gallachóir.
Mr Ó Gallachóir, of Sráth Máirtín, Derrybeg, died on Wednesday at the age of 94.
He was central to CLG Ghaoth Dobhair over many years and was known for his impressive memory of almost every player who wore the jersey.
Described as a gentleman, and a one-of-a-kind character, Jimí Mhicí will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
CLG Ghaoth Dobhair has expressed condolences to his wife Bríd, daughters Mary Agnes and Caitlín and son John Bosco.

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice of Jimí Mhicí Ó Gallachóir, Stramartin, Derrybeg, F92T8N3. Predeceased by his parents Mickey and Mary, his three brothers John, Hughie and his twin Michael. Sadly missed by his wife Bríd, daughters Mary Agnes (Ballina, Co. Mayo) and Caitlín (Navan Co. Meath) and son John Bosco (Letterkenny), grandchildren Odhrán, Éanna & Darragh, sons in law Richie Cloonan and Cyril McGrane, daughter in law Mary McGrath, relatives & friends.
Removal from Eternal Light Chapel of Rest Letterkenny, today Thursday 9th February at 4pm. His remains will repose at the family home tomorrow, Friday 10th & Saturday 11th from 12pm until 8pm. Rosary each evening at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Sunday morning, February 12th, at 11am in St Marys Chapel, Derrybeg with interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.
