Keri Loughrey has signed for Sligo Rovers Women for the 2023 season.
The Buncrana native joins Steve Feeney’s side having been in pre-season training with the Women’s National League side.
The 17-year-old makes the move from the Donegal Women’s League side, and is one of many Donegal players to join up with the Bit O’Red.
Loughrey has represented Ireland at Under-16 and Under-17 level, and was part of the Scoil Mhuire Buncrana side who won the FAI Schools Junior Girls National Cup.
Loughrey told Sligo Rovers club media: “I can’t wait to be playing in the Women’s Premier Division this year with Sligo Rovers.
“It is a big step up for me and I want to improve myself and help the team get as many results as we can this season.
“This is a good opportunity for me and one I couldn’t turn down, having the chance to play Senior Women’s football with a great club like Sligo Rovers.”
The Sligo Rovers side featured a host of Donegal stars in their debut season in the Women’s National League in 2022, with fellow Buncrana natives Emma Doherty and Paula McGrory lining out for the side.
